All award winners will be recognized at the 74th Annual Pitch & Hit Club of Chicago Awards Banquet on Sunday, January 26th.

Heather Mills will receive the Charlie Hum Club Service Award. Mills manages the club’s social media and website, overseeing a complete redesign of the website in 2019. She is the Joliet Slammers General Manager.

Sean McSheffrey will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. McSheffrey, originally from Downers Grove, completed his first year as head coach of the Hendrix College (Conway, Arkansas) baseball program in 2019. He led them to a 28-12 record, setting the new single season record in wins.

Evan Marshall will receive the Bo Jackson Courage Award. During the 2015 season, while pitching in AAA, Marshall was hit in the head with a 105 mph line drive, fracturing his skull and requiring emergency surgery. On May 1, 2019, the White Sox called him up from AAA Charlotte. Marshall would post a 2.49 ERA in 55 games for the Sox.

J.J. Lally will receive the Nick Kamzic Scout Award. Lally has served in a variety of roles for the Chicago White Sox since 1999. He is currently a scout for the White Sox.

Alek Thomas will receive the Minor League Player of the Year Award. Thomas was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2018 draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks out of Mount Carmel High School. In 2019, he split his time in the Diamondbacks farm system between the Visalia Rawhide and Kane County Cougars.

Denise Stillman will receive the Mary Frances Veeck Woman of the Year Award. Stillman lost her battle with cancer in November of 2018. She was the owner of the Field of Dreams site in Iowa with the dream to turn it into a destination for traveling baseball tournaments.
