Dick Allen will be honored posthumously with the Lou Boudreau Hall of Fame Award at our January 18 Banquet. The banquet will be held at the Tinley Park Convention Center, 18451 Convention Center Drive, Tinley Park. Doors open at 3:30 for autographs and the memorabilia auction. Dinner begins at 5PM.

Allen was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in July of this year. A seven-time All-Star player, Allen began his career as a Phillie in 1964 and was named National League Rookie of the Year.

He was acquired by the White Sox at the Winter Meetings in 1971. In 1972, his first year with the White Sox, Allen led the league in home runs (37), RBI’s (113), walks (99), on-base percentage (.420), slugging percentage (.603) and OPS (1.023), while winning a well -deserved MVP award.

In his three seasons with the White Sox he hit 85 home runs and had a .307 batting average.

Allen passed away on December 7, 2020 at age 78.
