Eddie King Jr. will be honored as the Pitch & Hit Club College Player of the Year at our January 18th banquet. The banquet will be held at the Tinley Park Convention Center, 18451 Convention Center Drive, Tinley Park. Doors open at 3:30 for autographs and the memorabilia auction. Dinner begins at 5PM.
King Jr. had a monster senior season for the Louisville Cardinals. He hit .367 with 17 HR’s and 63 RBI. He led the Cardinals to the College World Series. He was dominant in the postseason hitting .500 (18 for 36) in 10 NCAA Tournament games with 3 HR’s and 11 RBI. He was named to the College World Series All-Tournament Team. In addition, he was the Nashville Regional Most Valuable Player.
King Jr. was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2025 MLB draft and signed with them on July 23rd.
King Jr. is a native of Lynwood, Illinois. In 2014, as the only 11-year-old, he played for the Jackie Robinson West team that made it to the Little League World Series finishing second to South Korea. He played his high school ball at Marian Catholic in Chicago Heights. He is also a product of the White Sox Aces program.
