MIKE MASSEY, Kansas City Royals 2B, will be honored as the Chicago Area MLB player of the year.
Massey had a breakout season in 2024, hitting .259 with 14 HR, 45 RBI and a .743 OPS. In the playoffs he hit .304 with a .795 OPS.
Massey attended Brother Rice High School and the University of Illinois. He made his MLB debut July 14, 2022.
